Overview
ABS holds its shape near 100 °C and can be sanded, drilled and solvent-welded, which makes it practical for housings and brackets that live near heat. It shrinks noticeably as it cools, so large flat parts need an enclosed chamber and remain prone to lifted corners and split layers. It also emits a strong odour while printing.
