Überblick
PLA is a stiff, low-shrinkage thermoplastic made from plant starch. It prints cool and needs no enclosure, and its shrinkage is among the lowest in the catalogue: a part comes off the plate close to its CAD dimensions. It softens near 50 °C, so it is the wrong choice for anything left in a car, mounted near a motor or exposed to direct sun. Use it for prototypes, jigs, display models and indoor enclosures.
